When your component has a curved surface, a tight space, or must be heated uniformly across a flat area without rigid mounting points, flexible heaters are the solution. Also known as foil heaters or silicone rubber heaters, they conform to the shape of your component and deliver precisely controlled heat where it is needed nothing more, nothing less.
| Type | Construction | Temperature Range | Key Applications
|
|---|---|---|---|
| Silicone Rubber Heaters | Etched foil or wire element in silicone | -60°C to +220°C | Medical devices, OEM equipment, food processing |
| Polyimide (Kapton) Heaters | Etched foil in polyimide film | -200°C to +200°C | Aerospace, robotics, lab instruments, tight spaces |
| Mica Band Heaters | Resistance wire in mica insulation | Up to +700°C | Extruder barrels, pipe flanges, nozzle heating |
| PTC Flexible Heaters | Self-regulating polymer PTC | Self-limiting at setpoint | Anti-condensation, safe temperature applications |
Silicone rubber heaters are thicker, more durable, and better for industrial applications where the heater may be handled or flexed repeatedly. Kapton (polyimide) heaters are ultra-thin (as thin as 0.2mm), extremely flexible, and ideal for tight spaces or precise applications where minimal heater mass is critical, such as aerospace and medical instruments.
Yes. Custom flexible heaters are available in any shape round, rectangular, irregular, or with cutouts/holes for mounting fasteners or sensors.
